Students participate in hands-on clinical rotations within accredited surgical facilities, applying sterile technique, surgical instrumentation knowledge, and perioperative procedures. Under the supervision of licensed surgical staff, students assist in preparing the operating room, maintaining the sterile field, and supporting the surgical team throughout preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases.

During the preoperative phase, students perform surgical hand scrubs, don sterile attire, and prepare the sterile field. Responsibilities include organizing instruments on the back table, verifying surgical supplies, assisting with patient positioning, and ensuring all equipment is properly functioning in accordance with facility protocols.

Students gain exposure to a variety of surgical specialties, including general surgery, orthopedic procedures, OB/GYN, and minimally invasive techniques. This experience enhances adaptability, instrumentation recognition, and procedural knowledge across multiple surgical disciplines.
A surgical procedure to replace a damaged knee joint with a prosthetic implant to relieve pain and restore function.
An open surgical procedure to realign and stabilize a fractured wrist using plates, screws, or hardware.
A minimally invasive procedure using a camera to diagnose and treat knee joint issues through small incisions.
Minimally invasive removal of the gallbladder using robotic-assisted technology for enhanced precision.
Removal of a benign fatty tumor from the shoulder through a small surgical incision.
Surgical correction of a hernia near the navel by reinforcing the abdominal wall, often with mesh.
Surgical delivery of a baby through incisions in the abdomen and uterus.
A diagnostic procedure using a flexible scope to examine the colon for abnormalities such as polyps or disease.
An endoscopic procedure used to visualize the esophagus, stomach, and upper small intestine.
